One of the upsides to being a little kid is that you can get presents even on someone else’s birthday. But like getting your food pre-cut into bite-sized pieces and having older people carry you around when you’re tired, you can only expect to receive bags of party favors up to a certain age.

A rare exception to this, though, is the birthday of Kentucky Fried Chicken founder Harland Sanders. To celebrate Sanders’ birthday, KFC Japan is offering all-you-can eat fried chicken, but the unlimited bird is just part of the chain’s generosity on that special day.

KFC has come up with all sorts of ways to cook and season chicken over the years, including some that are only available in Japan. However, to honor the memory of Sanders, who’s more commonly known as “Uncle Kentucky” in Japan, this all-you-can-eat deal, which is available on September 9, is just for the Colonel’s Original Recipe version.

But just as man shall not live on bread alone, neither shall he do so on Original Recipe. In addition to chicken, diners can also have as many French fries and soft drink refills as they desire. Women also get a free dessert, though unfortunately there’s no equivalent substitute, like a free beer, for men.

The cost for adults is just 1,500 yen (US$12.50), while for elementary school-age kids it’s an even cheaper 1,000 yen. Younger children, amazingly, can eat for free.

Not every KFC Japan branch is participating in the campaign, presumably to prevent the entire country from running out of chicken. Still, 105 branches will be serving up endless orders of fried chicken. The complete list can be found here, and reservations are required for the all-you-can-eat promotion.

Those in Tokyo will be able to get their fix at the following KFC branches:

● Gotanda
● Gakugei Daigaku
● Yutenji
● Heiwajima
● Omori Nishiguchi
● Denen Chofu
● Sangenjaya
● Kyodo
● Seijo
● Ebisu Ekimae
● Tobu Nerima Ekimae

Also, bear in mind that while the chicken, fries, and drinks may be limitless, the meal itself is limited to 45 minutes. Honestly, though, after 45 minutes of devouring fried chicken non-stop, we think we’ll be plenty full.
